Ecdesign 3D menu

Here, you'll find guidance on using the features and controls within the 3D view of Ecdesign.

Ecdesign Toolbar

Here, you’ll find icons for 3D navigation options, speed settings, real-time 3D quality levels, camera controls, and quick access to rendering options for images, walkthroughs, and automated presentations.

Navigation

Walk
Ecdesign 5 is optimized to be used with a 3-button mouse by default.

Right mouse button + Move mouse: Look around
(W) / (Up arrow): Move camera forward
(S) / (Down arrow): Move camera backward
(A) / (Left arrow): Move camera left
(D) / (Right arrow): Move camera right
(H) Tilt camera to the left.
(J) Tilt camera to the right.
Click F4 to  position camera in top view
Click F5 to take photo
Hold SHIFT to increase walking speed.

Game
Right mouse button + Move mouse: Look around
(W) / (Up arrow): Move camera forward
(S) / (Down arrow): Move camera backward
(A) / (Left arrow): Move camera left
(D) / (Right arrow): Move camera right
(Shift) + (W/S/A/D/Q/E): Camera moves twice as fast
Click Escape to exit GAME mode.

Orbit
Allows you to orbit around the layout by pressing down right mouse button and moving the mouse left or right.
To tilt the layout, press down SPACE BAR while holding down left mouse button and moving mouse up or down.
To move in orbit mode, use same keys as in WALK MODE.

Aerial (top view)
Automatically place the camera in top view. Use mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out.

Speed control
Three buttons to increase, decrease speed when moving in real-time 3D.

3-star settings
Adjust the real-time 3D quality settings with three different levels to choose from, tailored to your graphic card's capabilities. Your rendered images and walkthrough videos will always be produced at the highest quality, regardless of the real-time setting you select.
