Some nice Ecdesign 5 tips

Take your Ecdesign presentations to the next level with a few simple steps. The images show a sample design of a small elegant hotel gym.

Tip 1.

In the first image you can see how we placed custom light sources. This was to create a more ambient feel to the design. All the lights where lowered down somewhat. This is to a add more dramatic effect. We also placed a large CUSTOM BOX with a photo of a street in Copenhagen. The photo we selected was from Unsplash, a website with royalty free photos.

In the second image you can see a curtain and a carpet. We used CUSTOM BOX to create the curtain and CUSTOM FLOORING for the carpet. Both objects have textures from photos taken with mobile phone.

The third image shows the final result. We chose to render the images in the NIGHT SETTING (you can choose time of day in the render settings when in 3D). It only took a few minutes to do these extra steps and the result speaks for itself.

Here is a design where we made some changes to the number, color and altitude on the lights. As you can see in the renders, small changes make a big difference.

You get a more "afternoon feel" by adding more orange color and removing certain default lights. You can also in the 3D render settings choose afternoon or night mode to bring down the ambient overall lights.

To create a daytime feel, simply add more lights with white color and perhaps also add a few lights outside the windows to create a sunlight effect.
